GB The Woodlands - Sunday, October 02, 2011
We had a great showing with several competitors stepping up to represent our team here at Gracie Barra North Houston this past Saturday October 1st! Both Kids and Adults did us proud with strong showings from all. The GBCompNet tournament was unique compared to the local tournaments in that it featured solely on one jiu jitsu team-the Gracie Barra extended family. Gracie Barra competitors from all over the great state of Texas came by to support. The atmosphere was very friendly amongst all the competitors and Coaches/Professors. I would like to stress how pleased I was in not only our students, but all students from the Gracie Barra schools in the behavior they displayed Saturday. There were a handful of referee calls that under circumstances of another tournament, an argument or fight of some kind would have came about. The atmosphere was non hostile, and all the students maintained their dignity win or lose. As I stated in class, it is easy to be a great sportsman when you win, but it takes true character to maintain your level of dignity through a loss. "Man up" and take responsibility for your performance, win, lose or draw. Several students placed, amongst those-Hayden Robichaux, Bryan Clarke, Carlos Martinez, & Corey Bacek were a few we had that walked away with the Championship gold. All students who competed, please send me your name and placing to todd@mmathewoodlands.com so I can compile a complete listing of competitors Saturday. Please send any pictures you have as well. I will see you all on the mats. -Professor Todd Moore- Welcome Muay Thai instructor Coach Gerardo Abadie! GB The Woodlands - Friday, September 30, 2011
Please give a warm welcome to GB Magnolia's new Muay Thai Coach, Gerardo Abadie! Coach Gerardo has been a longtime friend of the Gracie Barra North Houston team, helping coach and prepare many from our competition team with previous MMA, and Muay Thai bouts. With a 4-0 competitive MMA record to his own credit, Gerardo was able to attribute his unique Muay Thai style to lead him to success on the professional level of combative sports. Gerardo's communication skills has also found him success on the coaching level, most recently helping corner Coach Alex Morono in Alex's latest professional win. We look forward to seeing Coach Gerardo share with the Magnolia students his Muay Thai philosophy and help push them to be the best at Muay Thai they can be. 1 Recent Posts
